In this paper, in order to improve the field of fault location and isolation capability of Aircraft-Unities-Management-System (UMS) as the background, to achieve the integration of resources, through the research of the structure of the hardware and software technology of General-Purpose-Automatic-Test-Equipment (GPATE) of the general UMS, introduces the design of hardware structure and software architecture composed of the GPATE, using GPATE standardization modular design, implement the general hardware and software portability. Through the static simulation of the laboratory and the field dynamic verification, the design of the GPATE is reasonable and the indexes can meet the requirements of the functional test of the UMS, and the fault detection rate of the product is improved effectively.
