Software testing process model plays an important role in the software development process, which implement can direct affect the quality of the software. Based on analyzing the feature and shortage of some typical test models such as X model, W model and V model, combined the practical requirements of software development and the design principle of software testing process model, this paper proposes an improved software testing process model—track model. This model can reflect the whole process of design and testing, emphasizes the necessity of interaction between clients, designers and testers. Applying this model in software development has obvious advantages in improving the efficiency of software testing and ensuring the quality of software.
