To realize the excessive package of goods non-contact detection, a packaging detection system based on grating projection is designed. Point set of three-dimensional goods is obtained by two high-resolution camera and a projector.Bounding box acquisition algorithm and point set volume calculation method is proposed. Volume ratio and interspace ratio determinne whether the package of goods is excessive package or not. The experiment results show that bounding box can be effectively generated based on point cloud shape and point cloud volume calculation accuracy can achieve 95％, time consuming is less than the widely used Poisson method.
